Sust-N uses state of the art handheld devices to record Audit Results. These results are then sent to Area Managers for action, along with follow up visits by Sust-N professionals to that any corrective actions are taken. All our reports are available to our clients on our secure Web Console.
SUST-N developed QTS for this very reason. Our systems and staff work very closely with the Client on a daily basis to get their high value waste minimised. In a typical NHS hospital we can save the Client about £500k over 3 years.
Working in partnership with the waste generator and their selected disposal contractor we can achieve really surprising results in a relatively short time.
Disposal Contractors charge a significant premium to deal with clinical waste. It can cost £650/tonne to dispose of Clinical waste whereas it costs about £140/ tonne to dispose of Domestic waste.
However, it is often the case that a high percentage of the Clinical waste has Domestic waste mixed into that stream. Once it is placed in that stream it becomes expensive to dispose of. Why would an organisation pay £350 for a service that should only cost £140? A simple enough question but the answer in a lot of cases is unfortunately – they just do!
Waste needs to be carefully segregated to avoid over treating waste, harming the environment, reducing carbon footprint and reducing the cost of waste.
